Buy now, pay later for travel
Book the flight, the hotel, or the whole package today and split the cost into three interest-free payments — or spread a bigger trip over 6 to 36 months. Your booking is confirmed straight away.
What you can split when you book
If a travel partner offers Scalapay at checkout, almost anything on the booking can be spread out.
Flights
Return fares, seat selection, and checked bags on the same booking.
Hotels & stays
Hotels, apartments, and resorts booked through partner sites.
Package holidays
Flight-plus-hotel bundles, where the whole package splits at once.
Car rental
Rental days, insurance add-ons, and extras booked upfront.
Tours & activities
Day trips, tickets, and experiences booked before you travel.
Travel insurance
Cover and luggage add-ons included in the same checkout total.

Browse travel partnersA $1,800 trip, four ways
The same booking, spread differently. Shorter plans are interest-free; longer plans come from our banking partner and show their rate at checkout before you agree.
- Pay in 3 — $600 today, then $600 a month for two months. Interest-free.
- Pay Later — nothing today, the full $1,800 charged 14 days after booking.
- 6 or 12 months — for trips you'd rather not feel in one quarter.
- Up to 36 months — for a once-in-a-decade trip near the $5,000 ceiling.

Four things that work differently for travel
Paying over time for a trip isn't quite the same as paying over time for a jacket.
Your plan runs on its own dates
Installments follow the booking date, not your departure date. A trip booked in March and taken in July is usually paid off before you fly.
Cancellations follow the provider
If the airline or hotel refunds you, remaining installments are cancelled. Timing depends on their policy, not ours. How refunds work →
Deposits are separate
Some operators take a deposit and a balance later. Each charge that goes through Scalapay gets its own plan.
Bigger trips need longer plans
Above roughly $1,500 most people move to 6 or 12 months so a single quarter doesn't carry the whole cost.
Book early without paying early
Pay Later's 14-day window lets you lock a fare now and settle up after you've confirmed time off.
Your limit still applies
Travel is often a customer's largest order, so check your available limit first. How limits grow →
Is paying later worth it for a trip?
Honestly, it depends on the trip and on how firm your plans are.
When it makes sense
Cases where splitting a booking genuinely helps.
- Fares are cheapest nowLocking a low fare early and paying across two pay cycles beats waiting and paying more later.
- The trip is already confirmedTime off approved and dates fixed means little chance of cancelling mid-plan.
- You'd otherwise use a cardA 0% split with a fixed end date is cheaper than carrying a revolving balance.
When to think twice
The trade-offs worth knowing before you book.
- Plans that might changeIf dates aren't locked, a cancellation means waiting on the provider's refund while installments run.
- Spending money comes on topThe booking is only part of it. Food, transport and shopping still land while you're paying installments. Staying in control →
- Long plans can carry a rateAnything from 6 months up comes from our banking partner and may include interest. And late fees still apply →
